Looking for Welded Handles
(Be sure to click here if you can't see the video if you're looking at this in your email inbox)
One of the questions a get a lot is how can you tell if you can bend the handle on a beauty shear. One thing you can look for is a weld mark on the shear. The weld mark will be wavy looking and just above the ride area where the handle attaches to the blade (see the video below this paragraph). If there is a weld mark "more than likely" you can bend the handle. Always be safe and check it with a file before you do though. Be sure to view the video below before you view the one on the bottom so you can see what you're looking for and where.
Here is the video I mentioned in the video above that will show you how these shears are welded together and let you see more clearly where to look for the mark. Be sure to watch the video above first.
I've talked about this and more a number of times in On The Edge. Visit http://otenewsletter.com/ to find out more about one of this industry's only newsletters.
If you're in the market for any of the Wolff sharpening machines, be sure to give me a call before you buy. I know all the best places to buy at the best price! Call 864-381-8697 or email me at otenews@gmail.com.
